Emerald Bay Resort and Casino opening delayed until the first quarter of 2023

In the Philippines and local casino operator PH Resorts Group Holdings Incorporated has reportedly announced that the first phase of its coming Emerald Bay Resort and Casino development will now not open before the first quarter of 2023.

According to a report from Inside Asian Gaming, the Manila-listed firm is an enterprise of local trading and shipping conglomerate Udenna Corporation and broke ground on the $800 million casino resort in July of 2017. The source detailed that the Paul Steelman-designed property taking shape on the central island of Mactan was originally set to begin welcoming guests by the end of last year but subsequently had this timetable delayed owing to the coronavirus pandemic.

Continuing consternation:

After initially postponing the opening of its five-star Emerald Bay Resort and Casino by over a year to January of 2022, PH Resorts Group Holdings Incorporated reportedly revealed in May that it had been forced to add another six months on to the construction schedule. To make matters worse and the company has now purportedly used an official filing to declare that it is planning to ‘commence full operations on budget and on track for the targeted opening in the first quarter of 2023.’

Partial progression:

PH Resorts Group Holdings Incorporated reportedly also stated that it has completed work on almost 41% of Emerald Bay Resort and Casino’s first phase and intends to shortly begin the process of finishing off its interiors and fits-outs in cooperation with Steelman Partners, project manager Tenman HK Limited and construction contractor Terp Asia Construction Corporation.

Palatial plan:

Being built on a 13.5-acre plot of beachfront land some 3.7 miles from Mactan-Cebu International Airport, the initial phase of the coming Emerald Bay Resort and Casino is reportedly due to feature 270 hotel rooms in addition to a 44,700 sq ft casino offering a selection of 600 slots and 122 gaming tables authorized under a seven-year exclusivity deal. PH Resorts Group Holdings Incorporated purportedly used an earlier filing to declare that this will all be complimented by five food and beverage outlets in addition to a section of private beach ‘that will be open to resort guests.’

Subsequent supplements:

Looking further into the future and Inside Asian Gaming reported that PH Resorts Group Holdings Incorporated wants to have added as many as 16 restaurants to its Emerald Bay Resort and Casino by the end of 2027 alongside a large convention center, four pools, 780 five-star hotel rooms and five villas. This later expansion is purportedly moreover due to see the venue’s casino expanded by 88,370 sq ft in order to accommodate a further 729 slots and 146 gaming tables.
